Don’t believe it. Charles Manson is not going to be released on parole to Johnson County, TX. All those Facebook postings are FAKE news.

According to SNOPES.com, On 4 June 2014, the Empire News web site published an article positing that Manson was soon going to be released from prison due to overcrowding. By the following day links and excerpts referencing this article were being circulated via social media, with many of those who encountered the item mistaking it for a genuine news article. However, the article was just a bit of satire from Empire News, a fake news web site whose disclaimer notes that it is “is a satirical and entertainment website.”

Charlie is still in prison. His next parole hearing is scheduled when he is 92 years old. He’s currently 79 years old.

I want to point out the man is now 82 years old.

He was born November 12, 1934. He’s still got 10 years more to do before his parole hearing. As of this writing, he’s spent 16,891 days in prison. That’s 46 years and nearly 3 months.

Mind you, he was sentenced to death, but due to California’s leniency on heinous crimes like murder, the death penalty was repealed and as a result, he’s no longer facing the death penalty.

Due to his age and length of time incarcerated, he may already be eligible even before any parole hearing. The main reason of a policy that went into effect in 2014 was to lower the financial burden to the State.

“Inmates who are 60 years or older and who have been incarcerated for 25 years or more are eligible for the Elderly Parole Program. Eligible inmates may be serving an indeterminate or a determinate sentence.”

It goes on to clarify eligibility: “Eligible inmates who are not currently in the board’s hearing cycle (i.e., those who are serving a determinate term or serving an indeterminate term and have not yet had their initial parole suitability hearing), will be referred by CDCR to the board and scheduled for an initial suitability hearing.”

The memorandum does NOT bother to mention anything about the criminal convictions excluded. No exclusions are placed on eligibility. In the eyes of the legal system, a convicted murderer who killed 7 people and have served 2 prison terms is no different than someone who is over 60 who served 25 years of selling cocaine.

The possibility of Manson getting out any day now is likely very high and it would be done so without the knowledge of the general public before hand. Don’t be surprised when i come back and say, i told you so.

  Well, they did just let OJ simpson out. He was supposed to be doing 9-33 years for armed robbery and kidnapping from what I understand. I certainly came nowhere near even the 9 mear minimum. Folks, we’re starting to see a trend here.

    Oct 1 when o.j. will be released it will be 9 years to the day of his incarceration
